Paga is a Nigerian mobile payments company founded in 2009, headquartered in Lagos and holding a payment license from the Central Bank of Nigeria. It is committed to providing financial services such as mobile payments to 1 billion users in sub-Saharan Africa.

Paga mainly provides inter-bank transfers, bill payments and cash withdrawals, covering both individual and corporate users. Individuals can complete operations such as fund access, utility bill payment, and cell phone recharge through the mobile app or agent outlets; while enterprises can realize efficient collection and bulk payment through its platform.

Paga Account Opening Process

Friendly reminder: It is recommended to use the real IP and real residential address of the country where the account is opened and to change the corresponding time zone and system for the account opening operation.

Open the Paga App and click Sign up to start the registration process. As shown in the image below, there are two account types to choose from:

U.S. Checking account with SSN/ITIN, valid passport, and U.S. residential address.
Nigerian domestic bank account with NIN/BVN only

The following process is demonstrated by opening an account with Paga in the US! Enter your cell phone number and perform SMS verification to complete the initial registration.

Step 2: Fill in your personal information

Click on I accept and fill in your personal information and residential address (must be at least 18 years old).

This section asks for either a U.S. Social Security Number or an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). If you don't have either, you can skip it by selecting I don't have either.

Not providing an SSN/ITIN with a credit history may pass in seconds.

According to your personal situation to choose the type of document, generally recommended to choose Passport can be. Scan your passport and take a picture of your face, follow the prompts and finish submitting it.

Step 4: Complete the account opening

As shown below. Enter your Paga Tag, agree to the relevant agreements and submit, you can complete the account. Usually the review takes seconds and you can see the information about your Checking account in the US.

Click Go To Dashboard to enter the main interface of the app. As shown below, click Provide your employment details, fill in the relevant occupation and income information and submit to complete all the account opening steps.
