Hong Kong and Mainland Cross-border Payment Gateway went live on June 22nd

Cross-border Payment Gateway refers to the connection between the Mainland's Interbank Payment Clearing System (IBPS) for online payments and Hong Kong's Fast Payment System (FPS).
The People's Bank of China (PBOC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) have jointly promoted the interconnection of the fast payment systems of the Mainland and Hong Kong to provide instant cross-border payment services to residents and organizations of the two places.

Currently participating banks:
Hong Kong: BOC Hong Kong, HSBC, Hang Seng, BEA, CCB Asia and ICBC Asia
Mainland: Bank of Agriculture, Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Construction Bank, China Merchants Bank and ICBC

Remittance limit:
Remittance of RMB or HKD 10,000 equivalent from Hong Kong to the Mainland, with a limit of HKD 200,000 per year
The Mainland can remit Renminbi (RMB) or Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) to Hong Kong, with an annual limit of US$50,000, which is in line with the exchange control limit.
